DM Play Website: Creating a Home Screen Shortcut

A home screen shortcut gives you a direct way back to the DM Play Website from your phone. Open the page you want to save, use your browser’s shortcut option and confirm the icon’s name. On later visits, tap that icon instead of finding the address again.

The website’s download guide describes saving a website icon through Safari. The instructions below also draw on Google Chrome Help for Android and Apple’s iPhone User Guide, since the menu choices depend on the browser and device.

Choose the Page You Want the Icon to Open

Start by deciding where you want each visit to begin. Saving the homepage provides a familiar starting point for navigating the site. If you save another page, check that it is the destination you want to revisit.

Look at the address bar before creating the shortcut. Give the icon a short, recognisable name, such as DM Play, so you can distinguish it from other saved websites.

Use the browser instructions matching your phone rather than looking for an APK download to create the icon.

Create a Shortcut in Chrome on Android

Google’s published Chrome instructions describe the following process:

  1. Open Chrome and load the intended page.
Navigate to the homepage or the particular website page you have chosen. Confirm the destination before opening the browser menu.
  2. Open the shortcut controls.
Tap More beside the address bar. Choose Install and create shortcut, then select Create shortcut.
  3. Review the displayed name.
Keep the suggested label or replace it with a name that will be easy to recognise on your home screen.
  4. Tap Add.
Complete the shortcut action using the confirmation presented by Chrome.
  5. Open the saved icon.
Return to your home screen and tap the new shortcut to check its destination. Google notes that shortcuts displaying the Chrome logo open in Chrome.

These steps describe Chrome’s website-shortcut feature. Follow the wording available in your browser, since layouts can change between releases.

Add the DM Play Website in Safari on iPhone

Apple’s iPhone User Guide provides a separate Safari procedure:

  1. Open the chosen page in Safari.
Make sure Safari is displaying the website you want the icon to open.
2. Open the sharing options.
Depending on your Safari layout, open the Page Menu and select Share, or tap the Share button directly.
  3. Select Add to Home Screen.
Scroll through the available actions to find this option.
  4. Review the name and finish.
Check the label shown, then tap Add. The DM Play download guide also recommends confirming the name before completing this step.
  5. Try the icon from the home screen.
Tap it and confirm that it returns you to the intended page.

Apple explains that the icon is added to the device where you create it. If you also want one on another phone, complete the process there separately.

Understand What the Shortcut Provides

The saved icon is a convenient entry point to the website. It does not install the Android APK described elsewhere in the download guide.

The website also notes that an icon’s appearance and behaviour depend on the site and operating-system version. Focus on whether it opens the correct page rather than expecting it to look identical on every device.

You may still be asked to sign in when accessing your account. Creating an icon is separate from registering or entering login details. Web content loads online, so keep an internet connection available when using the saved destination.

Find the Right Option and Check the Result

If Safari does not display the home-screen action, Apple advises scrolling to the bottom of the sharing list and choosing Edit Actions to add it. This is different from saving a normal bookmark inside the browser.

For Android, check that you are following Chrome’s menu rather than another browser’s layout. Use the browser’s current help instructions if the labels differ.

If the icon opens an unintended page, return to the page you actually want and create a shortcut from there. Confirm the address and name before finishing, then open the new icon once to check the result.
